An ASX listed professional services and advisory company with c.40 offices around Australia. Current revenue of c.$60m. The current strategy is to diversify the business. They are thinking about alternative sources of revenue. The culture is one of change as they begin to make this transition.

They pride themselves on “being part of the community”. Clients want a single provider with a national reach. Their people are the business and there is a very flat structure. Employees are empowered to contribute to the success of the firm.

Position

The CFO must be across all the technical requirements e.g. tax, audit, financial reporting. Strong commercial and strategic partnering skills are needed. You will partner closely with the CEO to optimise business decisions to drive growth and profitability. E.g. maximizing gross margin efficiency.

Delivery of data insights to the broader business is crucial. Technology savvy, with real strength in systems and process improvement. The IT function reports into this role.

M&A due diligence experience would be good but not essential whilst a professional services or a property background is desirable.

Profile

Ideally CA/CPA qualified and technically excellent. You must be accomplished in telling the story behind the numbers. A strong analytical mindset that drives efficiency. You are experienced in leading and mentoring high-performance and customer centric finance teams.

A strategic thinker that gets ahead of the issues. Good Attention to detail and must be able to ‘walk the numbers’. Pro-active and always looking for constant improvement and suggesting new opportunities with excellent ability to build strong working relationships with the CEO and the Board.
