NATA CS acquired Soar SMS in October 2024, and is continuing to identify and pursue attractive M&A opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join a growing, private equity-backed company with significant market potential.

Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role responsible for building financial and operational infrastructure to support aggressive revenue growth and long-term sustainability.

CFO Role - Near term

  • Partner with the COO/CoS to execute upcoming integrations of potential acquisitions
  • Migrate existing finance systems to upgraded platforms (e.g., NetSuite) to improve financial reporting, analysis quality, and scalability
  • Develop a comprehensive financial reporting package
    • Unpack drivers of business performance and make recommendations
    • Create models and reports as specified by business stakeholders
    • Design & implement a standardized process to be followed when updating the package
    • Include a monitoring mechanism for covenant compliance
  • Codify and drive the annual budgeting process
    • Incorporate scenario planning based on a range of input assumptions
    • Ensure ability to integrate with the core reporting package to track actual vs. projected performance
  • Partner with the COO in execution of the 2025 value creation plan
  • Build a tracking mechanism to capture synergies realized
    • Develop and implement a tool to capture revenue, cost, and financial synergies
  • Standardize and streamline the Chart of Accounts
    • Review the separate Chart of Accounts of each acquired company and create alignment in mapping & nomenclature for the future consolidated entity
  • Review and implement improvements to internal and cash controls
  • Review billing and revenue recognition processes, and partner with the technology team to implement improved e-commerce systems/transaction processes

CFO Role - Long-Term

  • We are seeking a business partner to think holistically about the business and to take ownership of key functions and initiatives within the Finance, Accounting, HR and general Business Strategy arenas
  • This role will act as a daily partner to the CEO across multiple strategic aspects of the business
  • Leveraging relevant prior experiences and knowledge of SaaS businesses (even better if there is prior experience / knowledge in the aviation/government services space), the CFO will be a great operator, leading, managing and executing the day-to-day activities of the finance function, but will often times be needed to go beyond the functional role and provide leadership direction across all aspects of the business
  • We want someone who is hungry to build a great business


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • 7-10+ years of finance leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • Experience with M&A transactions and post-merger integrations
  • Deep expertise in FP&A, financial modeling, and forecasting
  • Experience leading compliance, risk management, and financial reporting
  • Track record of building scalable finance functions and working with PE-backed companies
  • Strong knowledge of billing platforms (Maxio, Stripe, or similar)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute pricing strategies environment
  • Hands-on experience with HR oversight and third-party HR management
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-scaling company


Location

  • The preference is for this role to be in-person in our Washington, D.C. office; we are open to considering experienced candidates located nearby in Maryland and/or Virginia (or other candidates in a hybrid travel set up)
