A well-established company in the insurance industry is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and manage all financial aspects of the organization. This is a confidential search for a dynamic leader to join our executive team and contribute to our ongoing success.
The CFO will be responsible for directing and overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring financial stability, compliance, and strategic growth. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance and accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and experience in the insurance sector.
Duties
Direct all finance-related operations, including financial reporting, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, compliance, and audit functions.
Lead and mentor direct reports, including the Controller, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide indirect onsite leadership for all employees and functions located in the corporate office, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement data-driven FP&A capabilities to support company decisions related to pricing, deal structures, cash flow, profitability, default risk, and growth targets.
Enhance and maintain regulatory protocols, compliance programs, and an internal audit framework to ensure adherence to industry standards and legal requirements.
Design and produce standardized forecasts and analyses required by the executive team to inform strategic decisions.
Establish and manage a comprehensive schedule of all required regulatory and tax registrations, renewals, and filings.
Recruit, train, and mentor new talent within the finance organization, building a robust and capable team.
Foster a positive, performance-based culture within the finance organization by implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), metrics, scorecards, process improvements, and technology enhancements.
Develop and nurture positive internal and external business relationships to enhance departmental and company capabilities and culture.
Identify and sponsor solutions that improve cash flow, control expenses, and increase profitability.
Identify and address potential financial risks to safeguard the company's assets and reputation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance and accounting roles.
At least 5 years of management experience, demonstrating effective leadership and team development skills.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a solid understanding of industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Excellent leadership and managerial skills, capable of inspiring and guiding teams toward achieving organizational objectives.
Experience in public accounting (preferred), providing a broad perspective on financial management practices.
