Job Purpose

The Business Manager for Wholesale Banking Operations will be responsible for supporting the operational, financial, and strategic objectives of the Wholesale Banking division. This role requires a combination of business acumen, leadership, and expertise in banking operations to enhance operational efficiency, risk management, and business performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior management, drive key initiatives, and ensure alignment with the overall business strategy. Should use analytics, dashboards, and presentations to have impactful engagement and drive desired outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Oversee governance of daily operations of the wholesale banking division, ensuring seamless delivery of services such as trade finance, cash management, treasury operations, and lending.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards, risk management protocols, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Manage key operational projects, including process reengineering and automation initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the strategic plan for the wholesale banking division.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvements.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to ensure the division stays competitive.

Financial Management

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking for the wholesale banking operations.
  • Monitor cost control measures and optimize resource allocation to meet profitability goals.
  • Analyze operational data and provide actionable insights to drive cost reduction and efficiency.

Risk And Compliance Management

  • Drive towards Implementing and maintaining risk management frameworks to minimize operational risk.
  • Drive compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams to ensure effective control measures are in place.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Relationship Managers, Product Teams, Risk Teams, IT, HR, etc.) to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a point of contact between the wholesale banking operations team and key senior stakeholders and senior management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, auditors, and vendors.

Education Qualification

Graduation: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)/Bachelor of Commerce(B.Com)/Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Post-graduation: MBA/PGDM\

Experience:5 to 10 years of Experience.
