We are searching for the best talent for a Specialist, Business Operations to be in Malvern, PA, Spring House, PA, or Horsham, PA.

This is a hybrid role available in multiple cities within Pennsylvania. While specific cities are listed in the locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. Purpose: The Business Operations Specialist will manage financial forecasts, budgeting, and resource planning for our API Cell & Gene Therapy function. The specialist with some managerial guidance will be accountable for three key budget areas: Functional, Program out of pockets (OOPs), and Capital. This role is crucial in ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Proactively manage Program OOPs by working with Scientific Integrators (SIs) and/or Business SMEs to ensure budget adherence, both forecast as well as actualization.
  • In collaboration with finance, reclass costs on a regular basis to the appropriate financial bucket.
  • Manage functional budget by tracking controllable budgets (e.g. operating supplies, travel & expense, external headcount, and Partnership/Sponsorship).
  • Manage and track capital budget, by ensuring all equipment is ordered by the planned timeline.
  • Responsible for tracking internal and external headcount.
  • Collaborate with finance, strategy and operations, and cross-functional teams to track budget vs actuals, and support business objectives.
  • Analyze and refine existing business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to and follow-up on the departmental productivity objectives.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate reports to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

Education

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field required
  • MBA and/or advanced degree in related discipline preferred

Required

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in business operations, pharmaceutical industry or a related field
  • Demonstration of strong financial and business acumen
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Preferred

  • Proven experience in driving process improvement and improving operational efficiency
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Monday.com, UCT, and Tableau
  • FPX project management or related project management certification
