A great UHY client is seeking a CFO to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their CPA, have strong nonprofit experience, and be a strong leader.
The CFO role is a hybrid position, with at least 3 days being onsite (but more preferred). This is a client direct hire position.
CFO Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting, financial records, and reports in line with accounting principles and auditing standards. Ensure all financial services and filings are completed accurately.
Manage the foundation’s operating and project budgets, making sure activities stay within approved budgets.
Oversee third-party supplier relationships, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, risk management, and cost control.
Oversee the investment of the foundation’s assets with external managers, working under the Foundation’s Investment Committee.
Develop the finance team’s tech strategy, ensuring strong internal controls and effective management reporting.
Support the Investment and Audit Committees by providing necessary information and ensuring the implementation of their decisions.
Assist the President & CEO with complex gifts, asset evaluations, and fundraising efforts, and take on other tasks as assigned.
CFO Leadership Competencies:

CFO Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
CPA is required (unless you have prior experience in a foundation).
At least 10 years in financial management, ideally in nonprofits or complex environments.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, experience working with boards, and managing external partners. Must also have leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with financial software and automating processes.
