BigCommerce is looking for a Vice President of Revenue Operations to drive performance and operational excellence by optimizing cross-functional processes.
In this high-visibility leadership role, the ideal candidate will translate business strategy into execution by overseeing the design and implementation of operational process enhancements. This person has exceptional business savvy, financial analysis, and business partnership skills with deep expertise enhancing the scalability of revenue operations. The VP of Rev Ops will collaborate closely with leaders of revenue functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Business Development), business technology functions (business applications, data solutions, analytics), finance, and strategy leaders. As an enthusiastic advocate for unlocking revenue growth through operational excellence, the VP of Rev Ops will be accountable for implementing transformation initiatives for BigCommerce, ensuring the necessary frameworks have been designed and implemented to create sustainability of operating efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the Sales, Marketing, Partner, and Cross-sell operations teams through a period of rapid growth and operational challenges
- Gain alignment on operational strategies with executive management; manage the cadence of operational reporting and interface with senior leadership in Sales, Marketing and Business Development
- Demonstrate effective cross-functional leadership collaboration and customer-oriented service principles with key business stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Business Applications
- Establish and oversee business processes and procedures to deliver cross-functional business objectives while minimizing waste
- Ensure visibility into critical business performance with regular, detailed operational reports and readouts; oversee multiple managers leading teams of analysts who investigate performance, understand inputs and recommend improvements to optimize for crucial business outputs
- Drive accountability within the function to identify execution risks and implement controls to detect, mitigate, and/or prevent failure
- Drive operating leverage by setting ambitious goals and managing teams to the very highest performance standards
- Develop scalability throughout our revenue-driving business units with a combination of process improvements, automation and continuous improvement methods
- Provide strategic oversight to the design and implementation of business processes that build business capabilities and drive growth while ensuring effective collaboration and minimize role or responsibility confusion
- Drive consistency in approach to both work and deliverables, and drive agreement to this consistency among the executive team that Rev Ops serves
- Strategically prioritize what the business function will deliver, and gain executive agreement for the same
- Drive agreement with executive leadership to revamp BC’s Salesforce instance to better serve the company we are today
Who You Are
- An extremely analytical, results-oriented, cross-functional Revenue Operation professional with 13+ years experience in Sales and/or Marketing operations, process design and excellent leadership skills
- Experienced team leader and manager, with 8+ years of people management experience and a dedication to service-oriented leadership
- Working knowledge and application of Lean Principles a significant plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
- Cross-functional leader with indirect influence finesse and excellent stakeholder management; inspires confidence and collaboration across departmental boundaries
- Data-driven decision maker with a high level of business acumen and operations thinking
- Deep experience working with revenue-generating teams and programs with demonstrated success in improving business performance and efficiency
- Proactive problem solver whose critical thinking skills are adaptable and fungible across many disciplines and various subject matters
- Simplifier and executive influencer who utilizes exceptional storytelling skills to drive change through written, verbal, and presentation tactics
