Vice President of Revenue Management for BJC HealthCare
This VP will work in collaboration with the Chief Revenue Officer on an array of initiatives intended to optimize the revenue cycle and carry BJC Healthcare into the future. This leader will guide team of 550 employees responsible for billing, follow-up, denial management, cash posting and customer service for the BJC hospitals, medical group, home care and behavioral health.

Overview

Role Purpose
This senior level revenue cycle leader is responsible for partnering with finance leaders across BJC to achieve superior revenue cycle results. The individual in this role directs and oversees Revenue Management (billing, follow-up, denial management, cash posting & customer service) for all BJC hospitals and the BJC Medical Group. The individual is responsible for billing and collecting nearly $5 billion in revenue annually. This includes system-wide leadership of people with an organization with nearly 500 people and an operating budget of $47 million.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Lead team of 475 employees; staffing, recruitment & retention, talent management, career development, employee engagement, succession planning, etc. Supports teams in taking calculated risks and celebrates learnings and successes. Leads teams in setting priorities. Creates and implements strategies to increase employee engagement.
- Creates and implements strategies to improve revenue cycle performance (e.g., Cash Collections, A/R aging, avoidable write-offs, etc.). Manages accounts receivable and achieves outstanding performance results; bill and collect ~$5 billion in revenue annually. Aligns Revenue Cycle Management goals with hospital service organization (HSO) and BJC goals.
- Ensure a highly compliant billing process the adheres to the applicable policies, procedures, regulations, laws and standards
- Collaborate with leaders across BJC to resolve problems, improve results and monitor performance. Understands and diplomatically navigates the complexity of BJC.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets and ensure budgetary goals are met. Ensure the efficiency of operations and manage the cost to collect.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or related field
- 5-10 years of experience
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience
