Overview
The Deal Desk Analyst is responsible for supporting the evaluation of select sales deals, particularly focusing on interfacing with sales teams and client operations (ops) to review sales deal economics, customer value, and competitive dynamics of each deal. This person will enable better business decision-making across the organization and provide strategic, process management, and tooling support to the Deal Desk Lead. This position requires a strong ability to interface with key internal business partners (e.g., sales, client ops, finance, procurement) in order to enhance margin and deal velocity.
Key Responsibilities
•Interface with and direct communication between sales and client ops in deal structuring and approval, ensure efficiency and accuracy in handling of nonstandard deals
•Ensure deals receive the proper approvals and decision-making is well documented
•Develop knowledge of category strategies, client purchase patterns, and key economic levers as inputs into overall deal review process
•Interface with finance, client ops, legal and other stakeholders to manage complex deals
•Create new and enhance existing deal review procedures, processes, and policies to adapt to changing dynamics and conditions
•Develop executive-level communications for reporting and critical deal review initiatives
•Review deal economics alongside financial analysts, including gross margin, contribution margin, terms, and other financial implications
•Summarize findings for various levels of business stakeholders
•Interface with others on Pricing team to drive organizational alignment on "what is a good deal?"
•Support deal and quoting analyses for strategic planning and performance tracking
•Analyze large account quoting and purchasing patterns to help serve these customers and maximize our most important relationships
•Support broader pricing initiatives including margin target setting
Position Requirements
This position requires knowledge of B2B pricing and pricing in distribution, as well as strong skills in quantitative methods acquired through formal education and/or on-the-job experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to influence the organization, including sales teams. Strong teaming and collaboration skills are required to operate effectively across the business. Must have a demonstrated ability to drive financial analyses as well as create change and influence others.
Minimum requirements include:
•Degree in field related to Business, Mathematics, Economics, or similar requirements
•Minimum 3+ years experience in pricing, deal/bid desk, operations or similar positions
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses, summarize, and implement recommendations
•Prior work in cross-functional environments, with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with sales and related teams
