Vacation® is a “leisure-enhancing” sunscreen brand from Miami that's on a mission to make sunscreen fun. We launched in April 2021 and quickly became a viral sensation thanks to nostalgic branding and innovative products like “Chardonnay Sunscreen Oil,” “sunscreen scented fragrance,” and our Classic Lotion, aka “The World’s Best-Smelling Sunscreen.” In 2022, we launched at Ulta, Urban Outfitters, and Nordstrom with a plan to roll out a string of new products that will shake up the category.
Your role
- Develop and execute retailer strategy that results in a high-performing pipeline and sales
- Lead the end-to-end sales process with Retailers and DTC.
- Ability to create a vision for the 3-5 year plan-through distribution, reach, awareness, productivity, and performance
- Manage each account P&L, balancing investment with top-line opportunity; monitor retailer profit contribution and achieve agreed profit
- Acts as the first point of contact for all New Business prospects and opportunities
- Partner with leadership and the Sales and Marketing Team on sales process improvement, material creation and optimization, and department growth
- Closely partner with key cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and client on-boarding
- Collaborate with the co-founders on strategies to maximize lead generation potential
- Provide weekly account business recaps and monthly reporting that details sell-thru by SKU, ranking, productivity, stock & sales, and competitive analysis
- Own all net sales forecasting for defined retailers, trade marketing, meeting all financial deadlines and budget submissions, flagging risks and opportunities in a timely and quantified manner
- Collaborate with Director of Growth to build plans that successfully drive the global business revenue targets
- Responsible for reviewing product assortment & sales to maximize door productivity in partnership with marketing and product development
- Achieve Retail and Wholesale goals
- Develop and implement a sales action plan to achieve comp door sales growth in key retailer including Sephora & Ulta in order to maximize sales productivity and profitability.
- Identify strategic opportunities to sell in additional revenue
- Manage field staff or freelance to ensure efficient and successful store visits and sales
- Ensure accurate forecasting for NPD and core lines, and proactive inventory and assortment management, with close collaboration with Marketing, Sales Operations
- Analyze and communicate all stock concerns to appropriate retail personnel/internal ops team to ensure appropriate stock levels to optimize turn
- Build a plan to launch and sustain rankings for new and existing distribution
You should have experience in:
- Developing junior team members to build out sales function as revenue grows
- Building and establishing relationships at all levels within the accounts, including Merchandising, Planning and Marketing, to ensure that the brand is positioned to deliver share of voice, visibility and exposure
- Monitoring & analyzing retail sales by territory, by door, weekly, monthly and quarterly
- Coaching team based on analysis in order to optimize net sales performance, to achieve revenue targets
- Working closely with Operational Marketing, Visual Merchandising, PR, and Store Design to create and deliver an annual plan for each retailer covering: activation of key launches and marketing moments, eventing, store/retailer animation, considering both customer acquisition and retention.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in sales/marketing function in the beauty industry, ideally specifically with current and future retail partners
- Strategic thinker that is highly entrepreneurial to lead a business from the ground up
- Business training and experience, to lead and manage wholesale business channel; proven results orientation and sales management / P&L responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor and develop a team
- Team player who understands the importance of the role as a key leadership role at an emerging brand.
- Positive, cooperative attitude. Ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously, both internal and external
- Humble with the ability and desire to roll up sleeves and be hands-on in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally
- Communicate effectively in meetings and describe deliverables and project milestones - and build rapport with senior management with external partners
