Submittable is seeking an experienced
Deal Desk Manager to join our team in Seattle, WA or Missoula, MT. This role will be responsible for ensuring a smooth Quote to Cash (OTC) process in a rapidly growing SaaS company. The Deal Desk Manager will create a centralized, cross-functional set of processes and policies to facilitate high-value deals through the pipeline, working with Sales, Finance, Accounting and Legal legal and Accounting. This role will drive scale within the Sales organization, while we increase efficiencies, profitability, and enforce stronger controls.
This is a full time position that reports to the VP of Revenue Operations.
What You'll be Doing:
- Serve as a go-to resource for the Sales and Account Management teams, building strong relationships to seamlessly move complex deals through the pipeline to close.
- Ensure Sales and Account Management teams are operating in accordance with internal policies, directly partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure policies are adhered to and enforced. Examples include adhering to discounting policies, tax inclusion policies, payment schedule exception policies and general order form compliance.
- Partner with Enablement to educate Sales teams on changes in processes, policies, and best practices to improve performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in support of Sales and Account Management, in the rollout of new products and policies, and in the improvement of our O2C processes.
- Ensure that contract data is accurate in CRM and other systems, partnering with cross-functional teams to reconcile downstream processes and reporting.
- Identify and scope process and systems changes that improve operations for the Sales and Account Management organizations and simplify the customer journey.
- Understand end-to-end processes across OTC including the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional support teams, in order to expeditiously resolve issues.
- Assist Sales reps in the legal review process to sufficient resolution, including using judgment when to involve other internal stakeholders such as Finance, Tax, Billing, etc.
- Provide status updates to Submittable's Leadership team and document trends and issues.
- Be a subject matter expert with Salesforce internal Quote to Cash systems and process.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- Direct experience on a Deal Desk team. Experience working with Finance, Sales Operations and Contract Management preferred.
- Customer-oriented with a keen awareness of how to balance Sales processes with bookings growth.
- Solid understanding of software revenue recognition principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – verbal and written - to drive complicated issues to resolution.
- Exceptional analytical skills along with the ability to demonstrate practical judgment in time-bound business situations.
- Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly articulate on technical and operational issues.
- Proficient knowledge of Salesforce and SalesForce CPQ.
- Humble, professional, positive, but also tactful demeanor with stakeholders.
