What you’ll do:
The Deal Desk Manager will work in the Commercial Excellence organization and play a key role in sales excellence for Array Technologies. You will ensure deal elements are standard and gain approval for non-standard items by working cross-functionally with sales, supply chain, procurement, finance, and legal departments prior to contracting. Contracting is a critical step in our quote-to-cash process, and we are looking forward to finding the right person who enjoys working through challenges and pulling together winning deals.
More specifically this role will:
- Work closely with Sales Management, Finance, Legal and Supply Chain teams to guide the deal approval process from quote to contract
- Present non-standard deal terms to Leadership for approval
- Create standard deal structure template by identifying standard deal terms for each business function
- Improve efficiencies for other functions by shortening and controlling all near-contract activities
- Train sales teams on proper deal desk engagement and processes
- Manage and improve the approval process including levels of authorization matrix by deal type
- Recommend quoting process improvements with actionable system improvements
- Develop deal tracking metrics, discounts, pricing, approvals, and deal KPI’s
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Deal Desk focusing on optimizing revenue, profitability, and deal quality
- Lead pre-contract quote review confirming deal parameters with sales, finance, supply chain and legal
- Work closely with field sales to solve more advanced and complex issues driving sales excellence
- Proactively identify bottlenecks in the sales process and find ways to solve them
- Develop a thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to navigate complex sales cycles
The qualifications you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance
- 5+ years of experience supporting sales teams in finance, marketing or sales operations roles
- 5+ years of experience in:
- CRM tools (i.e. Salesforce)
- Microsoft tools (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
Our preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry
- MBA degree
- Understanding of GAAP revenue recognition principles
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ, or other project quoting tools
- Experience with SAP or similar MRP planning system
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Passion for creating organizational efficiencies, and understanding end-to-end processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Strong task management and organizational skills
