Slack: Sales Operations, Deal Strategy (Deal Desk) Senior Manager
Slack is seeking a multifaceted Sales Operations, Deal Strategy Senior Manager to scale and support our rapidly growing Sales organization! In this role, it is critical to keep a pulse on the business and recommend changes to deal structures in response to observed behavior in the field.
You will review and approve non-standard terms within Enterprise Sales contracts to structure contracts that mutually benefit Slack and its Customers. You will also be building programs to support deal making and work with cross-functional GTM teams across M&A Integration, Sales/Renewals, Business Development, Pricing, Marketing, Accounting, Legal, Enablement, and BizTech to build scalable and efficient policies and processes in support of Deal Desk enablement for the Sales Team.
Successful candidates will be problem solvers with strong intrapersonal skills, allowing them to introduce balanced friction into deal negotiation & recommending system/process improvements, while maintaining strong and productive rapport with XFN teams. Candidates will have a blend of sales, finance, legal, and Q2C operational competence and general strong business judgment.
What you will be doing
Provide deal structure mentorship to field sales; identify and recommend changes, including developing pricing promotions & negotiation strategies
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Q2C process and influencing go-forward Slack Deal Desk processes; providing analytical & business lens to support decision making for Deal Desk standard methodologies
Lead the relationship and facilitate partnership across key partner organizations in support of a quick, efficient, and accurate Deal Desk process
Be a creative problem solver who finds a way to meet Sales’ needs while adhering to internal controls, protocols and applying business judgment!
What you should have
6+ years of work experience (familiarity with Enterprise Software industry in sales/Q2C related processes)
Expertise in counseling Sales on sophisticated negotiations across discounting and other commercial levers
A track record of leading Q2C process improvement initiatives to implement industry standard methodologies
Ability to think strategically about the big picture and proactively identify areas of improvement, but also implement tactical, meticulous tasks like writing business requirements and documenting processes
Comfortable presenting with Executive level decision make
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $128,000. You may also be entitled to receive bonus and benefits.
