A global financial technology company is looking to add a Revenue Operations Manager to their team in Boston!
As Manager of Revenue Accounting Operations, the responsibilities include supporting the daily operations of the revenue accounting team in compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter expert support for the technical accounting function for the company which includes accounting guidance for all agreements for the company. This role is responsible for working with the members of the Project Management Office (PMO) to establish monthly processes as it relates to implementation efforts related to associated deals. He/She will be supporting the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles. This position will also be responsible for preparing models related to transaction price allocations related to all deals in compliance with ASC 606.
The qualified candidate will work closely with the revenue accounting team as well as other groups, such as Sales and Operations managers, Legal, Business Development, FPA, and the Project Management Organization.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Reviews complex, multi-element agreements to support compliance with applicable external authoritative literature and internal guidelines as it relates to ASC 606
- Works with cross-functional groups on a ensure that agreements are structured in a way that ensures revenue will be recognized properly while following all commercial internal policies and procedures and supports the Senior Director of Revenue in all deal review approvals internally
- Prepare and review all ad-hoc technical memos and other projects as necessary
- Responsible for providing revenue recognition guidance from an external perspective as issues and questions arise
- Review and prepare periodic studies for technical revenue accounting (including SSP, Customer Life, etc.)
- Conduit between PMO and Revenue Team to support projects costs and estimates as it relates to revenue recognition, steering the PMO organization and managing the project cross-functional information needed by finance
- Prepare journal entries that support financial close process
- Prepare required monthly/quarterly analytics for auditors and Sr. Management
- Provide documentation that support internal/external audit activities and audit preparation
- Completion and/or review of Monthly Revenue Account Reconciliations
- Serve as back up for team members as needed
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance
Minimum years of work experience: 7 -10 years of accounting experience in a private or publicly traded company.
Required skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.), as well as PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition standards ASC 606
- Customer contract review for revenue risks related to ASC 606
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team player attitude
- Strong problem-solving skill

Preferred skills:
Skilled in NetSuite ERP and SFDC knowledge a huge plus
Public accounting experience is a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
