Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join growing non-profit client's organization. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring its financial health and sustainability and providing strategic leadership and financial guidance to the executive team and Board of Directors.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle management management, and financial reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to ensure the organization’s financial health, sustainability, and alignment with its mission.
  • Lead financial planning and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial matters, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s budget in collaboration with department heads, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies for cost efficiencies and financial improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements, including IRS rules for non-profits, state laws, and donor reporting requirements.
  • Work with development teams to design financial strategies for fundraising, including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Oversee grant reporting and ensure compliance with financial requirements and donor restrictions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the non-profit sector.
  • Proven experience in financial strategy, planning, and analysis within a non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Blackbaud, NetSuite).
