About The Role And Our Client
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of a mission-driven non-profit organization in Canton, OH. In this pivotal role, you will provide financial leadership, ensuring sound fiscal management, long-term sustainability, and compliance with non-profit regulations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial executive with a passion for non-profit work, a collaborative leadership style, and a track record of successfully managing complex financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
Develop and monitor key financial performance metrics to inform decision-making and long-term planning.
Manage cash flow, investments, and reserves, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, including those related to tax-exempt status, grants, and donations.
Lead the audit process, working closely with external auditors and ensuring timely, accurate filings.
Collaborate with senior leadership and the board of directors to provide strategic financial insights, support fundraising efforts, and ensure financial accountability.
Supervise the finance team, ensuring effective training, development, and team collaboration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
8+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in a non-profit environment.
Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, grants, and tax-exempt regulations.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day financial operations.
Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
Location & Compensation:
On-site position in Canton, OH (required every day).
Salary range: Up to $140,000, depending on experience.
