The Revenue Operations Manager manages several aspects of revenue recognition, financial acumen, and accounting. This includes review of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) requirements from a reporting, compliance, and oversight perspective. The role will analyze variances across multiple product lines, global and regional. The role will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on working on key initiatives and program/project launches. The role will work with large amounts of data to discover and solve real issues impacting our internal and external customers, create narratives on operational and business process changes, reconciling data, and creating a playbook for launches that impact Legal, Tax and Accounting. The role will own intake of requests, resolution, escalations of accounting, tax, and audit impacting matters.
This role requires a superior, self-directed individual with strong attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also possess the ability to multitask, make smart and timely decisions with limited guidance, and react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround. He or she will be highly self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative, anticipate needs and drive process improvement.
Key job responsibilities
- Create detailed revenue and expense month-end numbers for Training
- Partnering with Program Managers across different products to understand process, advise on accounting and financial impact, as well as understand changes and launches of new products
- Serving as a liaison on Accounting, Tax, Legal SME of product lines and revenue recognition
- Creation of a playbook for repeatable launches that impact key business areas of Accounting, Legal, and Tax
- Create monthly decks and reporting using data to understand business impact
- Review and perform monthly audits and support month-end process
- Review source data for accuracy within contractual guidelines, and reconcile directly internal stakeholders, such as the Delivery Teams to resolve discrepancies
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS/MBA in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal, and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
- 10+ years relevant experience in positions that require analysis, working with large data sets and reporting financial results
- Management experience with demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong communication and presentation experience working with multiple peer groups and senior levels of management
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid business judgment and controllership focus
- Understanding of accounting revenue standards and revenue recognition
- Have ability to build, manage and maintain models for problem solving, variance analysis, and forecasting
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-start
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital
