Annual Bonus

The CFO will lead the financial operations for our client, a food & beverage manufacturing company. As a key member of the executive team, they will drive financial planning, risk management, and operational efficiency to promote profitability and growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food production, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries, and a strong grasp of financial strategies in fast-paced, customer-focused environments. The role requires expertise in KPIs and the ability to communicate financial concepts across departments. This position reports to the CEO and oversees four direct reports, based in Austin, Texas.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop financial strategies to support growth, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on financial goals and provide actionable insights.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.


Accounting Leadership

  • Oversee accounting functions, including reporting, general ledger, A/R and A/P, payroll, and tax compliance (with third-party providers).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in line with GAAP and industry regulations.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies to reduce risk.


Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

  • Refine key performance indicator analysis to optimize operations.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, including optimization of NetSuite ERP.
  • Analyze financial performance, metrics, and trends to inform decisions.
  • Develop strategies to support growth, margin optimization, and profitability.
  • Present financial results and recommendations to the executive team and board.


Cash Flow & Working Capital

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity for financial stability.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing, and investor relations.
  • Continuously improve cash conversion processes.


Human Resources & Risk Management

  • Oversee HR functions, including benefits design, employee engagement, and compliance.
  • Develop risk management strategies to prevent fraud and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage company insurance and risk programs.


Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation, and risk assessment for acquisitions.
  • Partner with legal, operations, and external advisors for deal structuring.
  • Oversee post-acquisition financial integration.


Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and mentor the finance team.
  • Promote a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster collaboration and employee engagement.


Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate/Graduate Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance (MBA preferred).
  • CPA required.
  • 10+ years in finance leadership, including 5+ years as a CFO or senior executive in retail, food & beverage, or consumer goods.
  • Strong financial strategy and operations experience.
  • Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in high-growth environments and/or M&A preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
