The Chief Finance and Accounts Officer (CFAO) will be responsible for the financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and overall financial management of the university. They will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, optimizing financial performance, and maintaining financial integrity.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

Ensure compliance with the university's financial policies, procedures, and long-term financial strategy.


Prepare and monitor annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cost optimization strategies.


Provide strategic financial guidance to the Vice-Chancellor and Board of Management.


2. Budgeting & Financial Management

Oversee financial planning, fund allocation, and expenditure control across all university departments.


Ensure optimal utilization of funds and cost-effective management.


Conduct financial risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.


3. Accounting & Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and financial reports.


Maintain compliance with statutory regulations (UGC, AICTE, Income Tax, GST, etc.).


Ensure timely tax filings, audits, and adherence to financial laws.


4. Financial Audits & Internal Controls

Establish and maintain internal financial controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.


Liaise with external and internal auditors for financial audits.


Ensure transparency in financial transactions and reporting.


5. Revenue Generation & Cost Optimization

Optimize operational costs without compromising academic and administrative efficiency.


Assist in fundraising initiatives and financial planning for new projects.


6. Payroll & Vendor Management

Oversee payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and statutory payments.


Manage vendor contracts, payments, and financial negotiations.


7. Financial Reporting & MIS

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.


Implement financial reporting systems and dashboards for real-time tracking.


Provide financial insights and recommendations for decision-making.


Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Chartered Accountant


Experience: 15+ years of experience in finance and accounts, preferably in an educational institution or university setup.


Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial management, taxation, audits, and compliance requirements for universities.


Skills: Financial planning, budgeting, risk management, leadership, and excellent analytical skills.
