About the Role:
Our client, a leading private equity firm, is seeking an Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations of multiple SaaS technology companies within their portfolio. This role will rotate between different portfolio companies, providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving value creation. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SaaS finance, private equity environments, and the ability to work in high-growth, dynamic settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and execute financial strategies that align with each portfolio company’s growth objectives and private equity value creation plans.
Partner with executive teams to drive financial performance, optimize capital allocation, and support strategic decision-making.
Operational Finance & Reporting:
Oversee all financial operations, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, and financial controls across multiple entities.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for private equity stakeholders, board members, and executive leadership.
Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, and KPI tracking to provide insights into business performance.
Private Equity & M&A Support:
Act as the primary financial liaison between portfolio companies and private equity investors.
Support mergers, acquisitions, and integrations, conducting due diligence and ensuring seamless financial onboarding.
Drive EBITDA improvements and cash flow optimization to maximize investor returns.
Leadership & Team Development:
Build and mentor finance teams within portfolio companies, instilling best practices and operational efficiencies.
Implement strong internal controls, compliance measures, and risk mitigation strategies.
Provide hands-on leadership to support finance teams in managing transitions and growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
15+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a CFO role, preferably in SaaS and private equity-backed environments.
Strong understanding of SaaS financial models, including ARR, MRR, CAC, CLV, and revenue recognition principles.
Proven ability to scale businesses and implement financial best practices across multiple entities.
Experience leading M&A transactions, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
Advanced expertise in financial planning, cash flow management, and operational finance.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with PE partners, board members, and executive leadership.
Ability to travel to company sites as needed.
