POSITION SUMMARY
The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include responsibility for accounting/finance, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, financial audits, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, cost and operations accounting, banking and treasury activities, cash management, capital planning, insurance and risk management, purchasing, commodity risk management, credit and collections, 401K plan administration and investments, healthcare plan evaluation and analysis, legal, asset management and control, acquisition analysis and integration, deal analysis and negotiations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct, manage, and monitor the financial, accounting and reporting functions of the company with direct responsibility for finance, accounting, financial audits, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, credit and collections, capital and risk management.
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Direct the procurement activities of the company ensuring sound control and execution of purchase commitments and contracts.
- Direct the commodity risk management and contract coverage activities of the company ensuring sound analysis of market fundamentals and requirements.
- Take hands-on lead position in developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive IT system to support financial applications, inventory, retail, cost system and S&OP.
- Direct the risk management and insurance activities of the company identifying potential risks and ensuring adequate protection against catastrophic events.
- Direct the financial planning process ensuring annual operating plans and forecasts reflect the current business initiatives, spending targets and projected product costs.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the banking community for the various banking, borrowing, treasury and cash management needs.
- Direct the treasury, cash management, debt management, credit facility activities of the company ensuring proper control and utilization of cash and credit.
- Direct the 401K Plan administration and investment activities ensuring fiduciary responsibilities are met and ERISA/IRS guidelines are adhered.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, acquisitions, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Capital project analysis, planning and approval, reporting and key project post-audits.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Participate in the development of the company’s overall business and financial strategies including target growth, profit, and operating objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with management team to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions and provide assistance as needed.
- Evaluate the financial impact of business initiatives, retail and operations and provide value added analysis on profitability and productivity.
- Provide executive management with advice and counsel on the financial implications of business activities.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Qualifications
- BS in Accounting or Finance, Required
- MBA, required
- Certification: CPA and or CMA highly desirable (Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant)
- 15 plus years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles within the Food/Beverage/Confectionery manufacturing industry/environment.
- Experience/understanding of MRP, ERP, and S&OP processes
