Robert Half Management Resources is partnering with a highly respected healthcare organization in Louisiana to identify a dynamic and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This leadership role presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in the strategic direction and growth. The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for reshaping and enhancing organizational performance, and experience navigating complex financial landscapes—including Chapter 11 filings.

Position Overview

As CFO, you will have the opportunity to directly influence and drive the organization’s financial health and strategic vision. You will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and implementing innovative strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals. This role is based in Baton Rouge, LA, and offers a competitive salary and performance-based bonuses. This role is primarily on-site with some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations within the organization, ensuring efficient and effective business practices.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of financial data for raising capital through banking and private equity partners.
  • Produce and present periodic financial and operational reports to key stakeholders, maintaining transparency and fostering trust.
  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, auditing, tax, purchasing, revenue cycle, payroll, property insurance, and treasury management for the healthcare system.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP principles and federal/state regulations, including risk management, fixed asset protection, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance business performance, driving innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve existing processes, implementing creative solutions to resolve operational challenges.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to shape the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring fiscal responsibility and long-term success.
  • Manage relationships with key financial stakeholders, including banks, investors, and auditors, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Leverage strong financial acumen to analyze and solve complex business problems, making data-driven decisions that support the organization’s growth.
  • Provide leadership and direction to finance team members, ensuring ongoing professional development and fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Specialized Expertise: Manage and support financial restructuring efforts, including Chapter 11 filings, ensuring the organization’s financial viability and operational continuity throughout the process.


Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • CPA Designation (preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a financial leadership role within a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Strong experience in Chapter 11 filings and financial restructuring is required.
  • Proven track record in leadership, strategic management, change management, and employee development.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and sound business decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with financial partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial management software a plus.
