Job Details

The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This individual will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, and support the organization’s mission through sound fiscal management. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board of Directors, program leaders, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.

Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, tax filings, and grant reporting requirements.

Manage financial risk and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Oversee financial audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies.

Work with fundraising and program teams to develop financial plans for grants, donations, and revenue-generating initiatives.

Provide financial insights to the Board of Directors and participate in strategic decision-making.

Develop and implement investment strategies for long-term financial sustainability.

Collaborate with operational and program leadership to ensure efficient use of resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).

Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial management role.

Experience in the nonprofit sector, including grant management and compliance, strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP accounting, and nonprofit tax requirements.

Demonstrated success in financial planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency.

Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including funders, partners, and board members.

Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
