Chief Financial Officer

OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a leader in their segment of the food & beverage space with experience sourcing quality ingredients from around the world to provide unique offerings to consumers. With over 50 stores across 25 states and both eCommerce and wholesale operations, our client has plans for continued expansion, and with that, an opportunity to join their growing leadership team.

This CFO position will be joining our client’s Executive Leadership team to lead financial and operational strategies to drive revenue. The CFO will have several direct reports including leaders from the Finance, Accounting, and IT spaces to ensure business alignment with financial goals and metrics.

SCOPE OF WORK

• Lead all accounting and financial functions for the organization including, but not limited to; forecasting, budgeting, yearly audit and tax return processes, financial analysis, and close.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to a small team of accounting and finance professionals.
• Enhance operational and financial strategies for brick-and-mortar, eCommerce, and wholesale divisions. Develop KPIs to track productivity, quality, customer service, and other operations that effect the bottom line. Implement changes as required.
• Work closely with CEO and other leaders to develop annual budgets, track KPIs, and make operational improvement suggestions to ensure continued revenue growth.
• Lead financial reporting functions, develop financial forecasts and analyze variances.
• Provide direction with capital expenditures, operational budgets, cost saving initiatives, and real estate investments.
• Work closely with internal IT division to drive process improvement with finance and accounting operations, evaluate technology upgrade for the enterprise,
• Conduct research on industry and economic trends that affect the enterprise, provide feedback on M&A and operational expansion initiatives, and implement cost saving initiatives as needed.
• Ensure finance and accounting operations meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Develop rapport and strong working relationship with executive team members and PE ownership, providing financial reports and insights when requested.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 12+ years of work experience in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of recent work experience in the food & beverage, consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing space.
• 3+ years of experience in a PE-backed organization.
• Recent experience in a financial leadership role (CFO, Director of Finance/Accounting, VP of Finance/Accounting or equivalent).
• Strong financial aptitude with an eye for continuous improvement and efficiency
• Ability to be a results and goal-oriented leader while maintaining a commitment to team mentorship, DE&I initiatives, and effective communication.
• Willingness to continue learning, stay on top of industry trends, and promoting the company in the industry. This may include reading publications, generating thought leadership pieces, attending local networking events, or participating in local professional organizations.
