Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Finance & Leadership
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to align financial strategy with growth goals, operational priorities, and expansion plans
  • Lead investor relations and board communications, delivering clear, data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Support capital allocation, product expansion, and M&A opportunities
  • Build and execute an exit strategy that maximizes shareholder value
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Own the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes
  • Develop dynamic financial models to support strategic initiatives and scenario planning
  • Monitor performance KPIs and provide actionable insights to boost profitability
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
  • Optimize cash flow and working capital to fuel business growth
  • Manage banking relationships and credit facilities
  • Oversee AR/AP and ensure efficient collections and vendor management
  • Cost Accounting & Margin Optimization
  • Implement sophisticated cost accounting systems tailored to manufacturing
  • Analyze product margins, direct/indirect costs, and pricing strategies to improve profitability
  • Partner with Ops to drive efficiency and reduce waste across the supply chain
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Deliver timely, accurate monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GAAP, and industry standards
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead and scale a high-performing Finance and HR team
  • Coach, mentor, and develop finance talent while staying hands-on in key areas
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to align on company-wide strategy
  • Systems & Infrastructure for Scale
  • Implement ERP and financial systems fit for a $20M+ and scaling business
  • Build scalable processes for trade spend, deduction reconciliation, and performance tracking
  • Establish metrics and dashboards for stakeholder reporting
  • Risk & Insurance Management
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies across supply chain, pricing volatility, and market shifts
  • Manage insurance policies and bring a risk-aware mindset to executive decision-making

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in financial leadership, preferably in venture-backed CPG or food manufacturing
  • Deep experience in cost accounting, product margin analysis, and inventory valuation
  • Strong background in trade spend management, deduction reconciliation, and customer allowances
  • Proven success managing board/investor relations with VC/PE firms
  • Experience preparing for exit or acquisition events
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, ERP systems, and advanced financial modeling
  • Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex data into business insights
