About the Role

Pinnacle's client, a growing cattle ranch and feedlot operation, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to help steer the business through its next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on big-picture thinking, strategic decision-making, and helping ownership evaluate and act on new ideas and opportunities. The right candidate will be a confident, forward-thinking leader who can help the owners prioritize, refine, and implement key business initiatives.

This position will report directly to the owners and oversee a team of five direct reports. It’s ideal for someone who comes from an agriculture-related background, but ranch experience is not required. What matters most is strategic agility, strong business judgment, and the ability to guide vision into action.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a key advisor to ownership, providing insight and analysis on new projects, growth opportunities, and operational priorities.
• Develop and evaluate strategic initiatives that drive long-term profitability and efficiency across the feedlot and broader ranch operation.
• Lead cross-functional planning efforts and establish frameworks to assess the potential return on investment (ROI) of proposed ideas.
• Oversee core operational and administrative functions, ensuring effective communication and execution among teams.
• Guide the leadership team with a clear vision, ensuring accountability and alignment across departments.
• Monitor key financial and operational metrics at a high level, using them to inform strategic direction without getting lost in the details.
• Partner with the owners to set long-term goals and ensure company values and vision are upheld in daily operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership experience, preferably in agriculture, food production, operations, or similar industries.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to evaluate complex business ideas and turn them into actionable plans.
• Proven experience managing teams and influencing company-wide direction.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills; able to inspire confidence and alignment across diverse teams.
• Business or finance background preferred; ability to understand and assess financial implications of decisions.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment where flexibility and initiative are essential.
