What are we looking for?
Skills & Qualifications Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping. Proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Excel) and reporting tools. Strong analytical and strategic planning skills. Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders. Experience in charity/social enterprise finance (desirable but not required). High level of integrity, transparency, and commitment to DICE’s mission. Knowledge of fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit financial management is an advantage. Personal Attributes Enthusiastic and proactive. Strong team player with a collaborative mindset. What will you be doing?
Financial Management Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry. Manage the organisation’s bank accounts, overseeing deposits and withdrawals. Develop and monitor the annual budget to ensure financial sustainability. Implement financial controls to prevent misuse of funds. Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and present financial statements and reports (e.g., income, expenses, and balance sheets) for board meetings. Ensure transparency of the organisation’s financial status to stakeholders, including donors and board members. Support auditors and financial reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Oversee tax filings, annual financial reports, and adherence to Charity/CIC accounting standards (if applicable). Fundraising & Grant Management Track and manage donations, grants, and fundraising income. Ensure compliance with tax-deductible donation laws and issue receipts as needed. Provide financial insights to support grant applications and fundraising initiatives. Expense Oversight Approve and process organisational expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines. Monitor financial transactions and expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources. Strategic Advisory Role Offer guidance on the financial implications of strategic initiatives and new projects. Work closely with the Board, CEO, and fundraising teams to align financial planning with organisational goals. Advise on risk management and investment strategies to enhance financial sustainability. Record-Keeping & Administration Maintain well-organised financial records and update financial policies as needed. Ensure smooth handover of financial documents to future CFO’s.
