We are seeking a leader for our Director of US Sales, who excels at initiating action and inspires organizational accountability. This person will ideally have an Automotive, Accessory and/or OEM background with extensive experience in sales, sales operations, distribution, channel development, promotion, and merchandise management. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy designed to increase sales, distribution, and market share, and has previously led broad and diverse teams to deliver great results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Required: Minimum 7-10 years of automotive aftermarket/OEM experience or 7-10 years mass retail experience in Outdoor segment.
Required:5-7 years’ experience of managing field staff
Required:
Valid drivers license with a clean motor vehicle report
Required:
Ability to travel minimum of 50%
Skills and general experience: Previous experience working in the automotive aftermarket industry is a required. Proven sales growth and with managing a remote team. Working knowledge of accounting and finance as it relates to sales. Self-directed with the ability to manage projects ranging from small hands-on projects to defining strategic initiatives. MS Office proficiency required. Ability to communicate effectively with personnel ranging from entry level operators to executive level managers. Ability to motivate team to achieve new goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
What you’ll be doing
- Provides leadership and direction to the sales team to meet stated revenue, profitability, program, and expense goals
- Ability to effectively leverage rep agencies management and internal sales managers
- Preparation and establishment of budgets, business plans, forecasts, area performance criteria
- A data-driven, pragmatic approach to performance, able to cut through to the relevant KPIs and work with all stakeholders to deliver outstanding results
- Developing team structure, prioritizing team additions, implementing repeatable standard processes, and accelerating tools to enhance efficiency
- Provides leadership and direction to the team to meet stated sales goals
- Provides tools, training, coaching, and feedback to encourage development and improve success of all team members
- Develops territory plans and bonus targets to empower team to strive for sales growth in key markets
- Experience in the selection and development of channel partners, help to identify and provide coaching to pursue new opportunities within the channels for business development
- Creates a collaborative sales and sales support environment promoting teamwork and harmonious support and alignment
- Promotes effective selling behaviors and use of sales tools to drive efficiency of interaction and value during engagements with customers
- Provides leadership to find mutually beneficial agreements with our customers to bolster long-term partnerships and repeat business
- Actively engages to align on selling strategies, account coverage, growth programs, and harmonizing work
- Regularly reviews team performance relative to goals and takes corrective action when goals are not being met
- Introduce and embolden the use of sales tools and selling methodologies to help improve influence over buying processes
- Strong understanding of the SIOP forecasting process (from a sales lens), the intent of the process, how the output is used, inputs / drivers into the forecast, expectations for forecast accuracy, and downstream impacts to the business and other functions
- Assist Marketing team with customer persona and segmentation information and buying habits to form meaningful digital campaigns
- Work closely with marketing to establish successful support, channel and partner programs
- Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
- Ensuring cohesive annual business reviews with each account (i.e., overall business performance, performance to target, overall profitability, GMROI, turns, inventory management etc.)
- Supports merchandising execution and collaboration in conjunction with channel marketing
- Additional duties as assigned
KEY ELEMENTS TO SUCCESS
- Must have experience in automotive or franchise sales
- Ability to work independently while following overall leadership strategy
- Understanding operations to support sales
- Product knowledge
- Complete knowledge of MS Office is a must with a strong emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to quickly learn and navigate through different computer software programs
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of people in a team environment, customers, and consumers
- An understanding of and/or a passion for the outdoor / overlanding industry a plus
This position is eligible for a commission plan/bonus structure.
