A O Hardee & Son Inc, a highly respected and rapidly growing sitework and land development contractor based in North Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking an experienced and credentialed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This role is ideal for a finance leader with a strong track record as a CFO in construction, land development, or civil infrastructure, with specific experience in development pro formas, complex land deals, and long-range capital planning. The successful candidate must bring strategic vision, operational leadership, and deep financial expertise to help drive scalable growth and sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight across all business units and land development operations.
- Analyze, prepare, and manage detailed real estate development pro formas for residential and commercial projects.
- Oversee deal structuring for land acquisition, project financing, investor relations, and joint ventures.
- Lead company-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation.
- Manage cash flow, debt instruments, working capital, and long-term financial strategies.
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP, tax law, and industry regulations.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and enterprise risk management systems.
- Collaborate with the ownership and executive team on growth initiatives, M&A strategy, and investment opportunities.
- Serve as the key liaison to banks, legal counsel, CPA firms, and insurance providers.
- Lead and mentor the finance, accounting, and procurement teams to support a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of senior-level financial leadership, with proven experience as a CFO (required).
- Deep expertise in land development, construction finance, and real estate deal structuring (required).
- Direct experience creating and managing real estate development pro formas (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required). Master's in Finance, Accounting, or MBA strongly preferred.
- CPA certification (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax law, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with construction-industry software platforms (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Foundation, HCSS) preferred.
- Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning, capital management, and operational scaling.
- High-level analytical, communication, and team leadership skills.

- Full-Time Executive Leadership Role
- Monday through Friday with flexibility for strategic meetings and travel as needed
