Description
We are seeking a collaborative and proactive Revenue Operations Supervisor who will be responsible for the direction and supervision of the revenue collection and public service functions in the Finance Department. The primary focus of this position will be to supervise, assign, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for the City’s revenue operations including billing, collections, cashiering, and providing customer service.When joining the public services team, you can expect something new every day, a big team-based approach where birthdays and employee recognition are among the favorites to be celebrated, and an unparalleled customer service mindset!
This position leads and guides a revenue operations team of seven full-time employees and two part-time employees. This is an essential senior management position reporting to the Revenue Operations Manager. Primary responsibilities include:
- Provides leadership and supports staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment to achieve the department’s and City’s mission, objectives, and values.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff. Prioritizes employee development with individual meetings, counseling, guiding, training, and supporting the customer service representatives. Plan, schedule, and host team meetings with follow through on issues and recommendations.
- Monitors, audits, and reports on revenue collections activities, including utility billing, delinquent utility account collections, business license collections and renewals, false alarm incident billings, parking enforcement collections, and transient occupancy tax collections.
- Manage day to day activities, workflows, and operations. Observe daily workloads for staff, looking for work backlogs and areas of improvement. Support staff by assisting with customer service, setting priorities, and re-assigning tasks as needed.
- Assumes difficult and specialized customer service situations which may involve upset and dissatisfied customers, requiring sensitivity and sound judgment; takes action to resolve complaints where appropriate.
- Develops, recommends, and implements new and revised policies, programs, and procedures. Researches and evaluates the impact of new laws or regulations on the City’s customer service functions.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess:
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, finance, or a related field.
Five years of increasingly responsible administrative and analytical experience in a customer service environment, including two years of direct supervisory experience.
