POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the COO, the Director of National Sales position is a critical role to develop and support the next chapter of Caddis’ growth and maturity. The focus of the role will be building and owning the Wholesale business at Caddis. The Director will prioritize creating and leading a network of channel specific external sales agents, developing internal sales competencies and processes, driving robust GTM execution, managing day-to-day wholesale operations, and delivering profitable growth results. This role will be hands-on, as well as, be the advocate for the wholesale business inside Caddis influencing and coordinating with the brand, supply chain, finance, customer service, and operations teams. The Director will use both quantitative and qualitative information to influence leadership and peers. This position will participate as a Caddis Leadership Team member.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
● Execute Wholesale distribution strategy focusing on key geographic markets, targeted channels and segments, and key influential retailers
● Lead and manage both the internal sales operations team and external network of sales agents
● Identify, engage, and lead a national network of external sales agents/agencies to ensure geographic coverage across multiple channels
● Directly manage select key customer relationships, new business opportunities, and negotiations
● Structure organizational capacity and team to support external sales agents and execute limited internal direct sales toward new and replenishment sales
● Own the budget/forecasting of key metrics and sales goals by segment to track sales team execution
● Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of KPIs with detailed commentary to the business
● Build and manage annual budgets and monthly forecasts to contribute to operational and inventory planning and efficiency
● In conjunction with finance, supply chain, and product teams develop and manage seasonal assortments, replenishment cadence, pricing, and margin strategies to maximize profitable growth
● Develop and maintain sales toolbox to support customers and external selling partners including seasonal campaigns, POP/POS, GTM process, assortments, incentives, MAP policy, retailer policies
● Work with tech, supply chain, and finance teams to identify, implement, and maintain technology-driven wholesale ordering system enabling customers and agents to directly place orders via a secure online portal
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
● Experience with Accessories in lifestyle passion industries; Outdoor, Athletic, Fashion, or Branded Housewares; Eyewear experience preferred
● 5+ years direct sales experience
● 10+ years successfully leading sales teams in small/mid-size businesses as a player/coach; critical to have experience managing external sales agents
● Visceral and demonstrable understanding of the role of brand management in the sales process
● Proven strategic sales planning and execution with a deep understanding of overall GTM process
● Strategic, critical, and creative thinking with strong business sense, high attention to detail, excellent financial analysis, and drive for continuous improvement
● Analytic approach to management and decision-making based on fact and data
● Approachable personality who thrives in high growth environments
● Able to operate in ambiguity and provide clarity
● Innate sense of urgency, results-driven, willingness to own it, and entrepreneurial spirit are musts
● Absolutely prepared to work within a hands-on environment
● Ability to travel as needed to trade events and account visits
