Chief Financial Officer
Our client, a CIRO-regulated dealer, is recruiting for a CFO reporting directly to the UDP.
Responsible for all aspects of internal accounting controls and maintaining an on-going open and transparent relationships with regulators. Insuring accounting requirement reporting is met as the firm pursues additional licensing requirements.
CFO responsibilities would include:
- General Financial Requirements
- Capital Adequacy, Books and Records, and Reporting
- Credit Risk Management and Client Accounts
- Inventory, Pricing of Securities
- Operations and Settlement
- Protection of Dealer and Client Assets
- Other Capital Provisions
Skills:
- Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting and reporting processes, and be actively engaged in monitoring and enhancing the process.
- Develop and ensure compliance of financial statements with accounting principles and standards, and be intimately involved in managing communication with leadership.
- Coordinate with external financial professionals and legal advisors.
- Execute strategies to optimize the company's cash management, and be deeply involved in forecasting and managing cash flows.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to the organization, and be involved in building and leading a finance team in a practical format.
- Coach and mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, execute and align the Company's financial and overall strategy with organizational goals while fostering a culture of financial accountability and professional development.
- Drive automation and process improvements within the finance and operational functions that will make a significant impact on the company's financial operations and contribute to the growth.
- Identifying and managing banking relationships
- Budgeting, summarizing and forecasting of corporate financial status
- Producing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Complying with applicable provincial and federal, regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting;
- Overseeing tax liability, filing and returns and working with provincial and federal regulatory entities
- Coordinating and managing internal and external financial audits;
- Providing documentation and presentation to for financial reporting
- Working collaboratively to improve overall financial processes
- Proposing and implementing initiatives for efficiency, effectiveness and for cost saving measures;
- Working closely with the business to support the firm’s mission and continued growth.
The CFO would be required to meet CIRO licensing requirements.
CPA designation preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $185,000.00-$195,000.00 per year
