SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong foundation in leadership, financial & accounting reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning to successfully lead the company’s financial operations. The role requires a seasoned financial leader with proven expertise in overseeing financial reporting processes and a strong background in implementing and optimizing financial systems. The CFO will act as a key strategic partner to the President and senior leadership team, ensuring fiscal health, financial reporting compliance, and driving financial performance through robust reporting, forecasting, and system improvements.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial reporting & compliance:
- Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all financial reports are complete, reliable, and compliant with internal controls and external regulations.
- Make WIP entries, calculate I/C compensation for sales team, book monthly unabsorbed manufacturing cost entries
- Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders regarding financial disclosures.
- Submit weekly cash forecasting.
- Process annual audit requests from Deloitte.
- Coordinate annual corporate insurance renewals.
- Maintain SAM registration & prepare Census Bureau reports.
- Provide periodic information requests for tax return preparation & provisions.
- Coordinate internal audits for both companies & ensure all open findings are closed out in a timely manner.
- Manage budget & forecast for both companies
- Approve & input forecast data in Daicel’s DIVA system.
- Challenge inventory levels as necessary.
- Financial systems implementation & oversight:
- Monitor and improve existing financial systems to ensure streamlined processes and integration across accounting, cash flow, operations, and revenue management functions.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms to enhance reporting capabilities, data accuracy, and operational efficiency across departments and the organization.
- Strategic financial leadership:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
- Provide forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling to guide decision-making and support growth initiatives.
- Analyze financial trends and recommend corrective actions to maximize ROI and liquidity.
- Implement reporting and analysis to enable data driven decision making for product management, marketing and sales activities.
- Team leadership & development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance, accounting, and customer care teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure alignment of team goals with organizational objectives and maintain high standards of financial integrity and accountability.
- Develop a system of skill redundancy within team to ensure there’s always a back-up.
- Cross-functional collaboration:
- Work closely with other department leaders to ensure transparency and efficiency in financial operations.
- Collaborate on risk management, capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, department budgets, and other strategic projects.
- Co-administrate 401k plan funding and participate in committee meetings.
- Process & set up new states for remote employees including filing for tax withholding, sales tax & unemployment
- Negotiate, administer, and manage corporate discount rate accounts (rental cars, hotels, etc), IT equipment, Amazon, Staples, IBX, Paycor, AMEX credit card program.
- Manage leases for both Ann Arbor location & West Chester location. Serve as the primary contact for the landlord of the West Chester office.
- Manage multiple company bank accounts.
- Review payroll & maintain unemployment files.
- Manage & upload invoices for specialized sales such as US Army & Singaporean government transactions.
- Coordinate annual corporate insurance renewals.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure timely follow-up on aged accounts.
- Strategic & administrative West Chester, PA site lead.
QUALIFICATIONS&EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred).
- 10+ years of senior financial management experience, including significant exposure to financial reporting and systems implementation.
- Strong knowledge of GAPP, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proven experience with ERP and financial reporting software (i.e. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex financial system implementations or upgrades.
- Demonstrated strong resilience, adaptability, and flexibility working across cultures & teams.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strategic thinker with high ethical standards & integrity.
Preferred:
- Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Experience managing relationships with auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.
- Ability to drive process improvements and system integrations that enhance financial reporting accuracy & efficiency.
- Strong project management skills related to technology and system rollouts.
- Experience working with Japanese company or global organization
