Middleby Outdoor, consumer brands Masterbuilt/Kamado Joe/Char-Griller, is searching for an experienced VP of Sales to lead our North America sales efforts. As a VP of Sales for North America, you will manage a team 6 direct reports and 15 total Sales and Operations individuals across a variety of National and Digital Accounts. Your primary focus will be supporting your team’s efforts to drive best in class account management, execute forecasted sales plan, deliver profitable volume growth and serve as the North American sales leader within the organization. This position reports to the GM of Middleby Outdoor.
Responsible for:
- Formulate and deliver a profitable strategic sales roadmap for all North America channels of business.
- Oversee monthly and annual sales plans for North America to achieve budgeted sales goals.
- Develop strategies to deliver financial plans (sales, margin, contribution, inventory) including analyzing sales and productivity of items to communicate results and to create action plans.
- Evaluate and oversee the sales operations infrastructure, ensuring commitments are met internally and externally
- Enhance, nurture, and build committed relationships that create long-lasting partnerships with our customers
- Develop innovative retailer solutions based on consumer insights to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Lead negotiations of large, complex retail contracts.
- Excellent fact-based selling and analytical skills that leverage sales analysis to identify opportunities within categories, brands and items
- Represents the retail strategy in Executive meetings
· Work cross functionally with Marketing, Finance, Operations and Product Management teams to build and execute strategic plans.
Requirements / Education / Experience
- 10+ years proven sales experience in a related position within the consumer products industry with direct account responsibility of at least +$100M in revenue
- Experience with a large variety of both National Account and digital customers required:, Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, Walmart, etc.
- Hardware category experience preferred
- Proven success managing relationships with Merchants, Division Merchandising Managers, Merchandising VPs, Retail’s Supply Chain Teams, and Store Operations Teams
- Strong understanding of omni-channel selling strategies and ability to work with ecommerce merchants
- Demonstrated track record of creating great relationships with customers and developing accounts over the long-term
- 5+ years of managerial experience, including proven success managing a high performance team of at least 5 people
- Familiarity with Sales Ops, including order entry, various shipping methods, and customer portals
- Experience leading the budgeting and forecasting process
- Ability to use data (POS, inventory metrics, etc.) and analytics to develop selling strategies
- Strong comprehension of product, product distribution strategies, and competitive gap analysis, and emerging product trends
- Ability to work cross functionally throughout the organization
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to travel up 25%-35%
