Job description
Our small family-run business is growing at a very rapid rate and the company now requires a dynamic, efficient, hands-on and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. Operations experience in office environments is a must. The role involves cross-team working and will suit individuals who enjoy a broad range of tasks, regular challenges and the potential to make a difference in a small business.
The role:
This is a hands-on role, overseeing a team of 3, responsible for the day-to-day channel operations and customer support functions.
- Sales operations: coordinating order shipments and couriers, liaising with our external warehouses in the careful coordination of orders and shipments, production of export shipping documentation, working with freight forwarders for ocean shipments and maintaining accurate shipment records.
- Inventory replenishment: monitoring stock held in international locations factoring rate-of-sale, domestic stock levels and shipping times. This involves coordinating with the production team and commercial team, to achieve optimal stock replenishment timelines and avoiding out-of-stocks.
- Customer support: processing orders DTC and retail orders (web and phone),answering live chat enquiries, providing timely and helpful customer service by email and live chat and sometimes phone.
- Leadership: monitor the Customer Support and Operations team performance, foster a customer focused working environment and ensure all duties are performed in a timely and professional manner. This involves identifying gaps in competency and knowledge, coaching, making sure tasks and priorities are clear and understood.
- Proactive Process Improvement: continuously identify improvement opportunities with the goal of streamlining processes and contributing to our operational efficiency.
Reports to: Director of Sales Operations.

Required skills and competencies:
- You have experience working in busy office environments with shifting priorities and deadlines
- 5+ years' experience within operations, customer support and/or logistics, with some management/coaching experience – Amazon operations experience is ideal, but not required
- You have excellent attention to detail, together with a thorough and methodical approach to your work
- You have excellent technology skills and are highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software packages and CRM systems
- You possess excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently to a range of customer types
- You have strong numerical skills
- Educated to degree level

Hours and compensation
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days’ holiday
- £35,000-£40,000 pro rata, depending on experience, plus performance bonus
