Position Summary
Boxiecat’s Key Account Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Sales Team and National Sales Manager. This dynamic position requires the ability to respond quickly in a very fast paced environment when anticipating needs, thinking critically, and offering solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with the implementation of strategic sales plans to accomplish corporate goals.
- Assists with sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries on all matters pertaining to the needs of the sales team, including those of a critical nature.
- Prioritize and determine appropriate course of action, referral, or response, exercising judgement to reflect the client’s needs and Company policy.
- Provide excellent customer service. Prioritize inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts; make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day operations that result in successful sales transactions.
- Act as a liaison and provide support to the sales and operations teams.
- Supports and trains brokers and distributors to develop strong sales throughout North America.
- Assists accounting with managing customer balances in the area of late payments and/or requests for credit. s
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
- Assists with channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution through GAP analysis.
- Maintain open communications with the Boxiecat team, including meeting regularly with the National Sale Manager and providing information and documents as needed.
- Meet with Key clients, assisting sales representatives and brokers/distributor networks with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Invest in building long-lasting professional relationships both externally and internally.
- Represents Boxiecat at trade shows to promote product and brand recognition.
- Assist in the development of new business.
- Regularly utilize internal CRM program to archive important customer and salesperson contacts and activity.
- Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the Company and executive team.
Requirements
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in a Business or Marketing discipline preferred.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible marketing experience required.
- Strong pet care/product industry experience and knowledge.
- Extensive experience in pet care/product sales channels.
- Strong industry network and relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Well-developed math and business skills.
- Outstanding negotiation skills.
- Ability to plan and execute strong strategies.
- Good leadership skills and ability to motivate the sales team.
- Ability to manage and delegate to the sales team.
- Ability to recognize and recruit sales representatives who will be successful.
- Must possess strong work ethic, as well as cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information.
- Proficient computer skills working with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. and the ability to effectively work on spreadsheets, word processing, networking, and e-mail programs.
