Chief Financial Officer - PE-backed financial services group
ECP are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer to join a dynamic, private equity-backed financial services group who are embarking on an ambitious growth strategy and looking to at least double EBITDA over the next 5 years.
About the Role
As CFO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO and private equity sponsors to drive financial performance, M&A execution, and strategic value creation. You will lead all aspects of financial management, including:
- Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance management
- Oversee debt financing, covenant compliance, and treasury operations
- Drive M&A activity including modelling, due diligence, and post-deal integration
- Build and optimise reporting frameworks for board and investor communications
- Develop a robust finance function capable of supporting rapid inorganic growth
- Partner with operational leaders to improve margin and cash conversion
- Support exit planning and value crystallisation
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a CFO who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a proven track record in:
- Prior CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a PE-backed business
- Proven success in buy-and-build strategies, ideally in financial service or adjacent sectors
- Strong understanding of debt financing, including refinancing, covenant management, and lender relations
- Experience with PE reporting standards, KPIs, and board-level stakeholder management
- Commercial acumen and ability to influence strategic decision-making
- Hands-on approach with the ability to scale systems, teams, and processes
- Exposure to exit processes (trade sale, secondary buyout, IPO desirable)
