Our client, a private equity owned food manufacturing company is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will lead the company’s financial, accounting, treasury, tax, and planning functions, as well as the IT function. The CFO will interact regularly with the Board and the private equity group.
- Partner closely with the CEO, the Board, and the management team to develop and implement transformational strategies for growth and cost management. Contribute to the success of the business by understanding the industry, customers, products, and manufacturing/operations. Act as a thought leader by providing analytical insight and perspective. Monitor and drive performance and provide financial oversight.
- Corporate finance. Play a leading role in managing the company’s financial structure and balance sheet. Interface with financial institutions, in particular debt lenders.
- Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, tax filings, and analyses of performance, variance, and cash flow. Ensure the fiscal integrity of the company’s business by enhancing and managing accounting systems and controls. Provide organizational leadership across general ledger accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, treasury, and financial analysis.
- Support development of the strategic planning process, including capital and operating budgets. Establish financial goals and monitor and analyze performance against these objectives. Develop high quality financial analysis to provide context and insight to decision makers across the company.
- Provide strong leadership in recruiting, training, and developing top quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization’s performance and productivity. Instill a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency.
- Help spearhead the effort to optimize enterprise planning, organizational design, process improvement, supply chain and logistics processes.
- Bring ideas for best practices to improve capacity and operational efficiencies out of the entire manufacturing and operations processes. Provide strategic financial reporting to help with forecasting and planning out the Company’s operations to scale for future growth.
- Provide insight and analysis which can help continually improve operating results, including gross margin improvement, speed and capacity capabilities, production and quality metrics, efficiencies in all areas of supply chain and overall profit improvement. Take advantage of business and market opportunities.
- Provide other analytical support to enable fact-based decision making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated track record of success in a CFO role in a business of appropriate scale with private equity sponsor. Having worked in a PE-backed company in a leveraged environment with an exit is a plus.
- Financial experience in a business where manufacturing in a “job-shop” environment drives revenues.
- Experience in acquisitions strongly preferred, spanning due diligence and integration.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in implementing and managing rigorous, disciplined financial controls, financial management systems and performance measures.
- Experience in a variety of professional environments. The ideal candidate will bring the rigor representative of larger companies yet will also have a proven ability to execute within a more entrepreneurial company
- Bachelor's Degree with MBA and CPA credentials being highly preferred.

Compensation - A base between $300,000 - $325,000 plus bonus and equity options.
