We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of an organization in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning to ensure the organization’s fiscal health. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing complex financial systems.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the preparation and review of accurate financial statements for all tribal entities and programs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Ensure adherence to tribal, state, and federal financial policies and regulations.
• Oversee reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and monitor fund activity.
• Develop and present financial reports to the Tribal Council, Finance Committee, and external stakeholders.
• Manage the consolidation of financial data across governmental, enterprise, and grant-funded operations.
• Lead the annual budget creation process, collaborating with department heads to align financial goals.
• Analyze budget performance, provide variance reports, and recommend actionable solutions.
• Supervise accounting for federal and state grants, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Establish and maintain internal control systems to protect tribal assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate annual audits, including financial and single audits, and address any findings effectively.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred).
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in grant accounting and knowledge of federal guidelines, including Uniform Guidance.
