A leading U.S.-based defense manufacturing company with a strong legacy of delivering mission-critical solutions to government and defense sector clients is expanding its footprint and driving innovation in advanced defense technologies. They are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team.
Role Overview:
The CFO will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy of the organization, ensuring financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a finance leader with experience in government contracting, manufacturing, and defense industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations (FAR, DFARS), cost accounting standards (CAS), and defense contracting requirements.
- Oversee internal controls, risk management, and audit functions.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to shape the company’s strategic direction and growth plans.
- Lead capital allocation, investment decisions, and long-term financial strategy.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and government entities.
- Direct and mentor the finance and accounting team to foster high performance and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience with government contract accounting, cost-plus contracts, and DCAA audits.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-stakes, regulated environment.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of defense contracts; active or eligible for security clearance preferred.
