CooperDouglas Executive Search has been exclusively engaged by a U.S.-based, publicly traded manufacturing company to identify a Chief Financial Officer to oversee all finance and accounting operations across its Mexico business unit. This is a pivotal opportunity for a proven finance executive who brings credibility, discipline, and cross-border fluency to complex operating environments. The incoming CFO will provide trusted leadership across finance, compliance, and strategic decision-making while ensuring full transparency and alignment with corporate standards under U.S. GAAP.
Reporting directly to U.S. executive leadership, this individual will serve as a key member of the global finance team driving process integrity, statutory compliance, and operational excellence throughout the company’s Mexico footprint. A dedicated transition consultant and experienced local staff will provide strong onboarding support.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all Mexico-based accounting and finance functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and inventory
- Oversee statutory reporting, external audits, and compliance with Mexican tax authorities
- Integrate Mexico’s results into consolidated U.S. financials under U.S. GAAP
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks
- Partner with U.S. corporate finance and operations teams to align cross-border policies and reporting cadence
- Lead and mentor a high-performing local finance organization, cultivating trust and accountability
- Collaborate with compliance and sustainability teams to support ESG and reporting initiatives
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and business-level Spanish (required)
- CPA, CMA, or international accounting credential strongly preferred
- Deep accounting and finance expertise within manufacturing, food, or industrial sectors
- Demonstrated experience in public-company or complex multi-entity environments
- Strong cost accounting and inventory management foundation
- Executive presence marked by clarity, judgment, and cultural dexterity
- Willingness to travel regularly (~25%) between the U.S. and Mexico
Target Compensation: $265,000 to 300,000 + bonus + relocation assistance + LTI.
