Our client is a technology provider in the exciting world of professional cryptocurrency
order routing and execution. Their clients rely on the technology to execute trades in fiat
to crypto base pairs, cryptocurrency derivatives—including options and futures—and
other related asset classes.
The candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By
using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their crypto expertise to
identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing
customers.
Position Overview
Reporting to the CEO, the CRO will oversee products and services and assist in selling to institutional clients in the crypto asset trading space in order to generate new business and grow existing client relationships. The role requires someone who excels at developing and servicing high-value clients, has a high-level of crypto industry knowledge, and can thrive in a trading technology-focused business.
Responsibilities
Institutional sales, business development, and client management of a global
client base
Sell offerings to crypto exchanges, OTC desks, market makers, asset managers,
custodians, and other crypto asset market participants
Manage and grow relationships with selected clients
Follow up on sales leads generated by marketing initiatives
Source and contact prospective clients and potential business development
opportunities
Work with the marketing, technology development, and operations teams to
ensure client relationships are optimally maintained and developed
Own all plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
Assist in the development of the sales plan. Prepare forecasts and KPI reporting for the sales leaders, CRO, and upper management, for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning.
Evangelize the product and personally help close largest deals
Work collaboratively across teams - including Engineering, Product and Marketing
Establish the inbound lead requirements needed to meet your sales objectives
Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required
Minimum of 8 years in a sales or business development position working with
small to mid-size organizations
Cryptocurrency experience preferred, specifically in the areas of crypto asset
trading and trading technology
Good understanding of financial markets and financial instruments, particularly in
cryptocurrencies and crypto derivatives
In-depth knowledge of sales strategies, concepts, and best practices
Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship
building
Effective time management, organization, and teamwork skills
Good relationships with crypto exchanges, OTC desks, market makers, asset
managers, custodians, and other crypto asset market participants
Qualifications
5+ years' quota carrying sales experience
Experience and working knowledge of CRM systems
Demonstrable track record of over-achieving quota
Strong written and verbal communication skills
