Purpose of the role
The key purpose of this role within the Online Sales Operations team is to ensure the successful day to day delivery of our online sales program including but not limited to managing a team of Auctioneers and an Online Sales Operations Lead to provide the highest level of vendor and buyer experience and optimise sale performance.
The role has day to day management responsibility for a team of Auctioneers and an Online Sales Operations Lead in relation to personal performance, standards & holiday management. This includes management of quality standards and overall responsibility for the delivery of a robust Buyer Portfolio management program and Provisional Bid negotiation by their team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Motivate, develop and mentor their team to ensure all aspects of their roles are carried out in line with their job role and responsibilities.
- Work with Sales Program Management to correctly and fairly delegate and manage the team member’s workloads on a daily basis.
- Construct and manage a rota to ensure there is adequate resource available at evenings and weekends.
- Conduct and document regular performance reviews with direct reports and manage team members personal development and progression accordingly.
- Full recruitment and management/leadership responsibility of their team.
- Advise assigned customers (Vendor) on industry market conditions and achievable selling prices of vehicles entered for sale so that customers’ expectations are realistic, bids from purchasers are accepted and the Company’s services are fully utilised.
- Undertake pre and post-sale activities as required and appropriate to ensure customer (Vendor & Buyer) requirements are fully met and Company objectives met: some examples of this would be converting or negotiating on provisional bids, dealing with telephone enquiries, attending or arranging vendor or buyer meetings.
- Work with their team to deliver an excellent standard of auctioneering including bringing energy & rhythm to the sale, varying the pace of the sale where appropriate, paying attention to detail, to auctioneer clearly and demonstrate a high level of product knowledge to support both sellers and buyers in making informed decisions and enabling sales opportunities to be maximised.
- Manage and mentor the Online Sales Operations Lead to ensure their assigned team of Online Clerks are managed and motivated appropriately and deliver to an excellent standard.
- Provide feedback to the Stakeholders to ensure issues are actioned, and sale performance is maximised for our vendor customers. Feedback items for improvement to Centres to ensure quality is upheld
- Oversee that the required pre and post-sale activities assigned to the team are completed to the necessary standard in order ensure customer requirements are fully met along with company objectives.
- Drive team output in post-sale activities and report back as necessary.
- Manage their team to negotiate provisionals, play an active part in buyer account management, surrounding marketing, post-sale disputes, offer advice on other products and services.
- ·Manage their team to report, update and manage assigned list of buyer accounts ensuring all stakeholders are informed and updated of opportunities for improvement, feedback and potential.
- To participate in all auctioneer team tasks and duties as well as assist with any other ad-hoc tasks required.
Technical skills:
