Our team is growing! We’re looking for a Deal Desk Analyst to join our team and help shape up the new deal desk function. This is a newly created role. The Deal Desk team is a trusted advisor to Sales teams on deal structuring. The help Sales create and execute an optimal deal for the customer while protecting SUSE for the short and long term. Deal Desk also works with internal stakeholders to create and maintain a scalable global workflow to drive consistency and efficiency in the deal review process. The successful candidate will drive increased focus on strategic deals, deal efficiency, improved profitability, and early insights into pipeline and deal conversion opportunities.
In this role you can expect to
Act as a trusted advisor on deal structing and processes to the Sales teams and support other internal stakeholders throughout the sale cycle
Provide the first level of guidance on key deal elements, risk areas, and alignments needed for Strategic Deal reviews
Manage deal structuring process, working closely with Sales, Pricing, Finance, Legal to articulate customer requirements, business case, deal value and key deal financials
Help guide on pricing and discount structures that both optimize revenue and provide value to the customers
Responsible for delegating activities/tasks to team members, and reporting plan, status, issues, decisions to align with relevant business areas, functions, or geos
Coordinate all required activities with stakeholders to seek inputs and approvals
Foster and maintain strong working relationships with critical business partners (e.g., Finance, Legal, Product) to ensure alignment and streamlined deal processes
Maintain a repository of deal support assets, proposals, policy documentation, global workflow, and associated tools
- Provide data and insight to inform future deals
Provide deal KPI reporting to Sales leadership and executives including analysis around key trends
Identify potential training opportunities and work with Enablement to develop & deliver sales tools and resources
Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
2+ years of relevant experience in Deal desk, Deal Pricing, Sales Ops, Revenue Ops, Finance, or similar roles
Experience with Salesforce preferred
Familiarity with the opportunity-to-cash cycle
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to effectively communicate with Sales teams and senior management
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment while managing deadlines
Organized, detail-oriented, motivated, and persistent
Flexible, adaptable, and forward-thinking individual
Preference to those with understanding of subscription, software, or tech B2B business models
