Position summary
The rms Director of Sales and Marketing will provide support to the Operations teams to generate profitable sales for the company, manage existing customers, screen new prospective customers, and assist in the creation of strategic marketing and sales collateral as needed. This role also interacts with the direct Cretex Medical sales organization, manages the rms Customer Service team and coordinates contract review and price negotiations with strategic rms customers.
Responsibilities
Director- Sales of Operations and Marketing Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the company’s operational leadership team to develop and negotiate contract pricing with our strategic accounts and customers
- Lead the contract review and negotiation activities including supply, inventory, and non-disclosure agreements, coordinate with Cretex as needed
- Maintain and support business relationships with all customers
- Coordinate with independent sales rep organization(s) regarding customer contact, performance expectations and manage commission payments
- Develop and review strategic sales goals for the Cretex Medical external sales team in line with the rms AOP
- Provide analysis of customer activities related to quotes, orders, sales and price history, backlog, and delivery performance as required
- Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve, perform market analyses to determine; market size and trends, customer needs and unmet needs, technology trends and the competitive environment
- Assist in the development and management of company video assets, brochures, statement of capabilities, customer presentations, website, and other sales and marketing collateral as needed, coordinate with Cretex marketing as needed; promoting the image and capabilities of the rms organization in the marketplace
- Lead, train and participate in Operational Excellence programs resulting in improved profitability
- Manage the Sales and Marketing budget
- Manage and lead a team of customer service representatives
- Travel as requested
- Partner with other Cretex business segments: leadership, sales, marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
- Ensure that the company’s business continuity plan is maintained and responsibilities defined for the business to function in the event of an unplanned disruption
- Establish professional relationships with rms team members
Qualifications
Director- Sales of Operations and Marketing Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related technical discipline
- 10 years of experience in sales and leadership
- 5 years of experience in contract manufacturing sales, preferrably in medical device contract development and manufacturing sales
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability with sales & marketing techniques and financial principals
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with an ERP system software and familiarity with manufacturing systems
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing with customers, co-management, and other company personnel
- Write clear understandable reports and business correspondence
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as gross margins, commissions, percentages, tolerances and run rates
- Solve practical problems, resolve issues and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Responsible for the recruitment, development, and management of the customer service team
- Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
- Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
