Marvel Entertainment is seeking a results-driven Director of Sales Operations, Collections to join our Publishing team. This position will report to the VP, Forecasting and Planning but will work closely with the internal Sales group.
We are in search of a zealous Publishing veteran with a passion for analytics. Ideal candidates will possess an expert understanding of the print marketplace’s needs and trends and have an innate ability to translate them to internal stakeholders.
The role’s primary function is to act as day-to-day lead between Marvel and its distribution partner, Penguin Random House, for all Collection sales. Other key responsibilities include:
- Partner with Publishing Sales to grow Marvel’s Collections business
- Source and curate all metadata and sales materials needed to sell Marvel’s Collections
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators for Collection sales across all channels and monitor results over time
- Curate a meaningful and fruitful Backlist offering across Marvel’s vast title library
- Collaborate with sales and distribution teams on product availability and pricing strategies
- Keep on top of competitor output and trends, regularly reporting findings to upper management
- Implement continuous improvement approach to all sales operations processes and tools
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Publishing sales or sales operations experience (includes understanding of Edelweiss)
- Ability to cultivate strong working relationships and pivot across communication styles of various stakeholders
- Efficient problem solver with a strong analytical skillset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Robust organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of Marvel’s title library and character families strongly preferred but not required.
The hiring range for this position in New York is $80,000 to $180,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
