About Alcemy
alcemy was founded almost 5 years ago to accelerate the decarbonization of concrete. A deep tech company that cares deeply about the climate, alcemy successfully applies artificial intelligence and IOT sensors to smoothen out the production and delivery of the world’s number one building material. The resulting precision advantage allows alcemy’s clients to realise an irresistible advantage: an up to 55% reduction in CO2 and significant savings from using cheaper and more sustainable ingredients that quickly exceed the necessary investments into alcemy. This combination proves to have the potential for a revolution in a world where more sustainable concrete normally goes hand in hand with way higher prices. Today, alcemy counts 50% of the German cement producers as its clients, is live across 30 plants, has collected over 14m€ in funding from climate VCs and is taking new geographies by storm.
The Opportunity
The first years of alcemy were characterized by the development of our technology, together with our early adopter SME customers. The company literally won its first 10 customers without a sales team - until the end of 2022. Today a small nimble team (2) is distilling the ideal sales recipe for the company’s two software products, laying the foundation for scalability and setting sail for international waters with clients going live in the US, the UK, Benelux, Poland, the Czech Republic and soon more countries across Europe. We are now looking for an ambitious colleague who wants to join us on our long journey of saving 1 giga ton of CO2.
As a Key Account & Sales Operations Manager you are responsible for:
- Acquisition and management of selected key accounts along the entire customer journey, from identification to first contact, to contract negotiations, to communicating our ROI to key decision makers, to accompanying group-wide roll-outs
- Responsible for our growth into more plants within key accounts and thus for an important part of our revenue growth and share-of-wallet growth until the next funding round
- Building efficient processes across the tools we use (eg. Pipedrive CRM), blueprinting templates and establishing effective reporting standards for our growing sales team and customer base.
- Through your customer proximity and quickly growing expertise in cement and concrete technology and close customer contact, you serve as a valuable sparring partner for the further development of our technology for our product teams

- You have gained prior experience in key account management, sales or are motivated to progress in this area of expertise

- You are based in Berlin and happy to travel nationally and internationally

- While for this positio we desire someone who is generally based out of Berlin, hybrid work at alcemy is a standard, i.e. we have an office in Berlin, but everyone is free to choose his or her work location. The only restriction then is that Berlin must be within a day's travel distance by train. To ensure interpersonal contact, we organize a team week on site every 9 weeks. During these weeks, we try to focus less on daily work and more on evening activities, setting goals and strategy, and joint development.
IN THE FIRST MONTH
You will…
- Complete our onboarding and get to know all team members
- Receive detailed introductions to the various components of our product portfolio from cement to concrete and from machine learning to customer configuration
- Meet existing customers and attend sales and customer meetings
- Have talked 1-1 with every commercial team member (marketing, sales, success & solutions) to understand the whole customer journey
- Dive deep into our existing business cases
WITHIN THREE MONTHS
You will…
- Take over the responsibility for your first two key accounts
- Have created multiple blueprint components of our processes and be on top of what’s happening across the department
WITHIN SIX MONTHS
You will…
- Have had your first success with one of your key accounts, e.g. got the commitment to roll-out within a country or across a regional group of plants
- Have in-depth conversations with our product team to give feedback on required features to grow our ARR

- A homework assignment that is relevant to your actual work
- A team-fit interview (45 minutes) with 2 of your future team members
- A role-specific interview (90 minutes) with 2 of our commercial employees
