Finance at Bex
The Finance team leads financial planning & analysis, corporate development, capital markets, business operations, and Board & investor relations. We strive to be agents of change and strategic thought partners to the business. We actively participate in driving corporate strategy and translating that into execution by the business units. We are integrated with teams across go-to-market, engineering, and product and work closely with them to evaluate key questions, solve problems, and drive results to maximize Brex’s long term shareholder value.
What You’ll Do
As a Deal Desk Analyst, you will liaise between the pricing and the sales team while also working with key decision makers from other cross-functional teams including but limited to finance, sales, and product to help deliver and grow a high-performing and a profitable SaaS business. You will be working closely with the sales team to construct and execute deals for some of our largest customers. This role will require a deep understanding of the SaaS market, understanding market dynamics, macro-economic trends & Brex’s cost structures to build meaningful deals for our customers. Aside from building deals for our customers, this role will include analyzing trend analysis and providing suggestions on future pricing proposals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Quotes and Order Forms are approved within existing pricing and discount policies
- Propose new pricing and discount policies
- Run day-to-day quote and pricing approvals
- Assist Sales with building Order Forms
- Ensure opportunities are accurately entered and properly booked in the CRM tool
- Provide proactive support and guidance to the sales team in order to help drive new deals as well as upsell opportunities
- Present to members of leadership on trends on win loss, average sales price, speed to close etc
- Maintain an agreed upon SLA on deal turnaround times
- Train new hires on pricing, quoting and contracting models and best practices and consult with field teams on specific contracts where appropriate
- Read, interpret, redline and escalate contractual language to ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies
- Help drive projects and initiatives focused on improving efficiency and simplifying processes throughout the sales operations and sales organization
Requirements
- Strong listening, analytic and organizational skills
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Adept at business partnering and working with cross functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way
- BA/BS required
- 1 + year of experience in a deal desk, finance, contracts, sales operations, or revenue role; software/SaaS experience required
- Strong financial modeling and analysis skills; program and project management skills required
- Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
- Ability to prioritize to meet business needs
- A thorough understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate and progress long, complex sales cycles
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Help coordinate system tie-outs and delivery timing details for revenue recognition with Services, Accounting and Customer Service teams
