Description
The Deputy Director of Athletics for External Affairs / Chief Revenue Officer is responsible foroverseeing and coordinating revenue development for the Athletics Department. This position ensures there is continual collaboration and innovation between all internal and external units, which impacts the department’s ability to generate revenue.
Direct oversight of the Athletic Ticket Office and Digital Media/Licensing units and primary liaison to our outsourced partnerships in the areas of concessions, licensing, merchandising, and multimedia rights.
Duties and Responsibilities
Athletic Ticket Office Oversight: Oversees Ticket sales and service unit’s operations with a key focus on revenue generation and customer service.
Trademark & Licensing Management: Oversees effective brand management policies, procedures, and revenue generation opportunities. Includes partnership with Collegiate Licensing Company on brand protection, management, development, and creating unique revenue opportunities.
Concessionaire Liaison: Oversee and act as the day-to-day contact with the department’s concessionaire vendors.
Multimedia Rights: Serve as liaison to Hampton Athletics’ multi-media rights partner and work closely with their General Manger on in-game engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
Works in conjunction with the Athletics chief financial officer on revenue projections & forecasting for both long-term and short-term strategic budgeting.
Leads External Operations (Marketing / Promotions, Creative Services, etc.) on comprehensive departmental marketing and social media plans that maintain existing revenue streams and create new sources of revenue.
Works with the Associate AD for Development to coordinate and develop messaging and strategies for fundraising that maximize departmental earnings.
Assists in formulating and implementing communication and public relations strategies, vision, and philosophy through oversight of development and revenue generation.
Oversees the administration of sport program(s) as assigned.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Comply with all the NCAA, CAA, and Hampton University rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in fiscal financial management or administration.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Ability to conceptualize and prioritize goals and objectives.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
