Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Operations Manager to lead our sales operations function. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of Salesforce and Copper CRMs, government and commercial contracting, and the tech industry/startup ecosystem. Your expertise in these areas will be essential in driving our sales strategy and fostering a high-performing sales environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the commercial and government sales teams, driving sales efforts to achieve revenue targets and company growth objectives.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Foster a hacker's mentality within the sales team, encouraging creative problem-solving, agility, and a focus on getting things done.
- Design and implement effective sales processes, methodologies, and best practices to streamline operations and maximize sales productivity.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and implement targeted sales campaigns, ensuring a consistent and compelling message to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, commercial clients, and strategic partners.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and drive innovative sales strategies.
- Understand the government contracting process from business development to capture to proposal to execution, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights to the executive team.
- Mentor, coach, and develop the sales team members, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring their professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership roles, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and exceeding revenue targets, with a focus on both commercial and government sectors.
- Strong understanding of the government contracting process, including business development, capture, proposal, and execution phases.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute effective sales strategies in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience leading and managing high-performing sales teams, with a track record of developing and mentoring sales professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, partnering with marketing, product, and operations teams to drive sales success.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Travel:
Occasional travel is required if you are fully remote. Our headquarters are located in Livermore, CA.
Compensation:
Base salary: $150,000 - $175,000
This position is Bonus eligible
